Vuma Hills Tented Camp is perched above the trees stretches over the seemingly endless wilderness south west of Mikumi National Park.

The spacious and comfortable tent is one of sixteen, all with rather old fashioned colonial décor on raised wooden platforms overlooking the floodplain below. Sleeping under canvas at Vuma is a far cry from the discomfort usually associated with camping. Complete with shaded wooden veranda at the front and en-suite bathroom, shower only, facilities at the back, each tent has a double and a single bed and the tents are mosquito proof. All the water is solar heated.

The dining room overlooks the swimming pool creating an oasis of tranquility in the dusty hot climate of the lowlands in which guests can savor the varied and well-prepared meals cooked by the camp chefs. Decaffeinated coffee is not readily available in Tanzania, so if required it is preferable to bring some with you.

All game drives around the park are done in open 4WD vehicles. The game drives are led by a trained, experienced English speaking guide who will ensure that you get the most out of every safari. Trek under the rainforest canopy with its endemic birds and primates to emerge at Sanje Waterfalls with breathtaking views over the Rift Valley below.
