Lying on the banks of the Talek River – a tributary of the Mara River – the Simba lodge is the perfect base, whilst in the Maasai Mara. Designed with imagination and built of traditional material, it nestles unobtrusively into the landscape, while the restaurant, the bar and the rooms overlook the river where crocodile and hippo can be seen.   The evenings offer informal entertainment around the open fire-place – lectures and slide shows on the local wildlife, tribal dance shows or a live performance of local songs. The Mara Simba lodge is the only lodge in Kenya to have installed a Waste Water Treatment Plant, which treats all the sewage to produce the crystal clear water used for irrigation.
