Gibb’s Farm is strategically situated at Karatu, thus making it a good base for safaris to Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Mayara and Serengeti National Park.   Ranked among the oldest guesthouses in Northern Tanzania, Gibbs Farm was constructed by German settlers in 1929 and has remained an inviting, well-cared-for-guesthouse. Gibbs Farm is surrounded by an intimate cluster of cottages, vast coffee fields, 10 acre vegetable and fruit garden and a pig farm.  Gibbs Farm has a total of 22 rooms, with 17 newly refurbished farm cottages. The cottages feature rich wooden floors and classic interiors, with panoramic wrap around windows. From the private verandah, the gardens, a vegetable farm and Ngorongoro Forest can be viewed. En suite garden bathrooms have both indoor and outdoor showers and a generous bathtub to soak in after a safari.  Gibb’s Farm is dedicated to creating unique activity programs that enrich the community as well as the guests’ experience. ’A Farm Life’ encourages cultural awareness, historical interest, a connection to nature and a desire for adventure – and still leaves ample time for relaxing and enjoying the gentle rhythm of Farm Life. Most activities are complementary with full-board accommodation, although a nominal surcharge may be charged for some activities.
